District Bonding Time

I got to see Emily Smith at the Missionary Training Center.  She is in the Chevron Shirt.  Emily is from the same Stake as me back in Omaha.  We left on our missions on week a part.

Occasionally all of the elders in my district get together for District Bonding Time. We used the time wisely as you can easily see.

Thank you sooo much for all of the Dear Elders!! They just make my day! I'm sorry about your toe:( Grantish, this is for you so listen carefully. Go outside with Nathan, right now (I mean after you are done cleaning toilets) and throw the football to him using the laces like normal (if you don't know how have Nathan help). Then I want you to do the SAME EXACT THING but between your legs. Hold the ball with the laces the same way and everything. look between your legs as you do it and just "throw" him a pass. It may take some time but I promise if you do it a whole bunch of times you will be the second best center Papio South has ever seen! (next to me of course;) Nathan I wish I had some advice to help you out with show choir but I never tried out. so Lo ciento:( (that means I'm sorry). But in terms of your singing, every once in a while put your finger right below your nose like you are giving yourself a finger mustache. If you feel your nose vibrating on the side of your finger, then that means you are singing to much through your nose. You can use that technique to practice until it doesn't vibrate. Work hard in that class! I started a good legacy there so keep it going;) Love you all tons! La Iglesia De Jesucristo de los santos de los ultimos dias es verdadera!

Missionary Life At the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah

Half My District Heading to the Temple

The MTC is packed to capacity so we are housed off

campus in an apartment building

Our apartment has a kitchen but we don't really use it since we are bused over to the MTC first thing in the morning and we eat at the MTC Cafeteria.

The beds are not made because it's washing day!

My companion and I each get half the closet.

Over the balcony is the building Hermana Gull stayed in when she was here.

We do a lot of studying

Even though it is a lot of hard work, it is also a lot of fun!

This is my totally awesome Companion.

This is Elder Webb. He is an amazing wrestler.
He placed at nationals and he won the Tiger Grizz Tournament.

The dark hair one is Elder Weekes.

He is the one who you know his uncle Bryan Bradley

We all look alike in our suits and ties and name-tags,

but no one has a watch like mine:)

This is me and my companion,

Missing from the picture is me and my companion:)

You Know that's Right!  Best Mission In The Church!

September 29th I will leave Provo, Utah and end up right here.

This is a picture of my Mission President and His Wife.
I Can't Wait To Meet Them!

Elder S. Hackleman,

How are things? Hopefully you are well. We went to the Papio football game last night. They played Bell West. We ended up losing but it was a very intense game. Both teams are playing with quarterbacks who throw long passes. It looked a lot different than the way we played last year. Every time we tried to run up the middle, or run at all, we were stopped in our tracks. It makes a huge difference when there is no Seth and no what's his name, you know your buddy.

Kicking isn't as good, with no Billy, and returns really put us in a bind. We ended up on the 1 yard line on the wrong end of the field a couple of times, not the same as running it back for a touchdown. There were some glimmers of hope, with some long passes, but there were quite a few interceptions as well. It felt weird watching the game. I kept looking for you, and I had to keep telling myself, hello, wake-up girl. Get with the 2014's. That was so yesterday, ha.

We have a new band teacher as well. The half time program was a lot different than what I am used to seeing. We were sitting by brother Hettinger at the game and he told us the band teacher came over from Bell East. I guess he is supposed to be really good. The band bought a brand new very expensive sound system. Only trouble was, it didn't work, at all. They were messing around with it for quite a while. Finally they just had to play without it. There were different times when a band member would go up to the microphone and play something, but from where we were sitting we couldn't hear it at all since it didn't go through the un-working sound system. The football players came back out on the field to warm up and the band was only half way through their program. Kind of weird.

Your dad is so funny, he said, "I guess that is what happens when you buy your sound system on E-Bay." I'm not sure Brother Hettinger found that as funny as we did hee hee.

Nathan is still tossing around the idea of trying out for Titan Express show choir. I think tryouts are next week, so we shall see.

I love you and I can't wait to hear all about your week!

Love,

Mom

Mommy! That's too bad about Papio South. I wonder if Coach O said anything before the game when they were watching film from last year and watched me drive their nose guard ten yards out of the back of the endzone while Drew Klein ran right behind me for a touchdown! lol. I can't believe we got a new band teacher!!! I thought everybody worshiped him! that's crazy. hey by the way, thank you for all of the Dear Elders! It makes my day whenever I open up my districts mailbox and I have one in there:) I know you are busy and can't do it every day, but just no they are appreciated!!

Good for Grant in his game! He is taking after his biggest bro! Tell him to wipe the sweat off of his face with his hand before he snaps the ball. It will help him grip it easier so he doesn't have to fear dropping it. I didn't think I would ever tell anyone the secret to my success but I think he has more use of it then I do right now haha! Usually people spit on their hands but that is the nastiest thing I have ever seen, and sense they don't have a sink with soap down on the fields I can't go wash my hands after every play. Sweat works just as well haha.

Tell Nayprat that he'd better dang well try out for Titan Express. Even though it isn't Titanium, they still get to go on the same trips and do fun things with them!! He will love it! How is basketball going? Is he conditioning after school or anything! Keep informed on how he is doing!!

That is sooooo cool about the baseball game though! Did Adam actually ask about me? He's such a cool guy! I'm sorry about your toe:( Just rub a little deep blue on it! HAHAHAHAHA SPEAKING OF WHICH! GUESS WHAT!!!!! My friend Elder Williams? His mom sent him with a whole case of that witch medicine essential oils! hahahahahahaha Everybody in our district got sick so he and I gave everybody some "ancient remedies mixed with lavender" haha.

Anyways I love you so much! Tell grant and Nathan I said Shalome! Lechuga con Queso!

We were doing initiatories at the temple today and there were a couple Mexicans there. All of a sudden, the next thing I know, I am having a full on conversation with them, in spanish. La Iglesia De Jesucristo De Los Santos De Los Ultimos Dios es verdadara!!!!! The gift of tongues is a real thing.

So Dustin, I mean Elder Quinata, and I were having one of our discussions (that I always win) but we didn't know the answer, so naturally I told him I'd ask you. haha just for old times sake. So why did the Lord not accept the grain Cain provided as a sacrifice? It says that Cain was in charge of the fields and Abel was in charge of the flocks right? the commandment was to offer the first of the fruits of your labors or something so why was what Cain had to offer unacceptable?

Your still my favorite seminary teacher! I will send you some pictures don't worry:)

She left on Tuesday but I got a picture with her before she left. I left my camera at my apartment so I can't send you the pictures Lo siento:( (I'm sorry). Hopefully I will have a little more time when I get back to send them. I email on the main campus because we bus up here to go to the temple every Saturday. The food is great!!!! No complaints yet! lol. My companion is Elder Moser. He is from Preston Idaho haha so I always quote Napoleon Dynamite around him.

Dear Elder S. Hackleman,

How are you doing? We got your letter in the mail. That was so exciting!

How are things? I saw a picture of Lauren on facebook that she made it to Argentina safe and sound. Good for her:)

Sister Gull with her Mission President. She said it took her 38 hours to arrive at the mission home. 2 planes, two trains, two buses and a donkey (ok, that last part is a joke) but she is finally there.

This is Labor Day weekend so Monday is a day off so for fun we are heading to Kansas City to watch Adam play baseball. Tim Law got tickets for us all from Adam. We are heading out right after Dustin's farewell talk tomorrow. We are staying in a hotel that has a waterslide, so it will be fun!

Adam Rosales
Texas Rangers

I went to Abbie's volleyball game yesterday and sat by Carol and Dave. We had a great time. They have season passes to all of Abbie's games they are going to give us, so we are totally set! She is in a tournament this weekend so I am just getting ready to head out to another one of her games. She is playing great although her poor team has not won a game yet. I guess this is a rebuilding year. They have 4 freshman starters. They do play Peru state later on in the month so that will be fun to watch.

Abbie Porter, #11, Bellevue University

Do you have your MTC box number yet? Are you getting the dear elder messages I have been sending? I'm not sure if they are getting to you since I don't have a box number.

I sure love you and I am so proud of you!

Love,

Mom
